Sign our Petition calling on Herts County Council to Reverse the £8M Cut for Highways Maintenance

pothole and LibDem demand better

The Conservative County Council has cut £8 million of its planned £37 million maintenance budget for residential roads over the next four years. This is a huge cut of 22%.

The Conservatives are claiming that these roads are in better condition than they expected but this does not match with what you have told us. 61% of residents who completed our recent highways survey expressed dissatisfaction with highways maintenance.

There are hundreds of roads that are in a very poor state of repair across the County, yet Conservative budget cuts for this year mean that 60 schemes covering 50 plus roads are not being actioned.

Liberal Democrats wanted to restore this spend but were voted down. We need your help to keep pushing for change.

Please sign our petition below to call on Hertfordshire County Council to keep its promise to maintain our roads and not cut £8 million from its budget for this.
